After washing the boat, re-provisioning, and seeing our friends aboard s/v SeaGlub off for their visit to California, we ventured forth to see what the Sea of Cortez was all about. We have heard wonderful things about this area …

Los Frailes and Bahia Suenos

In At Anchor, Blog, Mexico by AdamNovember 16, 20173 Comments

Bay of Dreams It’s easy to see why this beautiful bay got its name. It’s a beautiful protected anchorage with warm, clear water surrounded by rolling green hills. I watched Volare’s anchor hit the bottom for the first time and …

Bahia Santa Maria

In Blog, Mexico by AdamNovember 7, 20172 Comments

Our second leg to Santa Maria comes with mixed reviews.. periods of little wind, but mostly 16–18kts for the 3 days. We were also dealing with a 6-8’ following sea but it was the occasional cross swell that made the …

Welcome to our floating castle! We’ve lived aboard for over 13 years on this great boat. During that time…we decided to work and save, so that we can fulfill our dream of casting off and setting out for distant places.
We cruised Southern California and the Channel Islands every year. We’ve got our floating home where we want her. Comfortable and safe with a thousand watts of solar power. After completing the 2017 Baja Ha Ha, we cruised the Sea of Cortez and now the Pacific coast of Mexico. Spending the summers and hurricane seasons in Puerto Vallarta, we start there heading south during the cruising season.  We sailed down to El Salvador then turned around when COVID-19 closed most countries in Central America.  Join us as we embark on a great sailing adventure!
